Slip Rings

TransTech utilizes the sliprings of its sister company – Stemmann-Technik – when a rotating, sliding contact is needed to deliver electric power to moving machines. Slipring assemblies are used to provide uninterruptible energy and data transmission in all machines and equipment whose rotary motion does not permit fixed feed lines. Spearco Heat Exchanger

Conventional intercooler cores are thin-walled, extruded aluminum tubes that are not designed to handle extreme boost pressures and limit cooling performance because of their narrow width. Spearco's W.A.V.E. Technology Cores (Wide Area Vane Effectiveness) utilize the latest design advances in strength and durability and maximize cooling effectiveness through a greater surface area. In addition to our selection of cast-aluminum manifolds which are used on a variety of cores, it is also possible to fabricate special manifolds from sheet and channel aluminum for special applications to fit all intercooler installation requirements and aid you in initial fit and function.

WeatherAll® Power Cords
Helps to ensure transformer pump and cooling fan motor performance. The cords have been field-tested to withstand ultraviolet rays, oil, water and extreme weather conditions. A unique Overmold Protectant restricts moisture from entering at the connecting points and prevents any movement of cord leads.

Stator Water Cooler

When Gas Cooling Alone is Not Enough
Large generators create more losses in the conducting components than can be safely removed through gas cooling on the exterior of these conductors. These large machines have Deionized (DI) water passed through the conducting bars to keep them cool and not deteriorate the insulation that keeps them from shorting each other out. The heat rejected to the water needs to be removed externally from the generator by Unifin’s Stator Water Cooler. These coolers are manufactured from all non-ferrous material where in contact with the DI water. The remainder of the unit may or may not be Carbon steel. These units typically have bare tubes with a segmental baffle arrangement. While the tube bundles may become fouled or eroded requiring replacement, the shells are typically stainless steel and rarely need replacing.

TecSonics™ Bearing Monitoring System

TecSonics™ Bearing Monitoring System
Six precision, ultrasonic sensors are mounted in both thrust and radical bearings at strategic points, becoming part of the bearing surface.
A signal from the instrument excites a piezoelectric crystal in each sensor which emits a high-frequency sound wave which echoes off the face of the sensor, re-exciting the crystal which sends a signal back to the instrument.
The instrument translates the echo time into distance (sensor length) and bearing condition. A multiple array of sensors provides the safety of redundancy and accuracy of +/- .0002". Measurements are compared to the baseline readings to determine if bearing wear has occurred.

Wabtec Power Generation Products Wastegates and Valves


All of Turbonetics’ high performance wastegates and valves are designed and tested to control boost and flow large volumes of exhaust gases. Turbonetics' wastegates feature investment cast stainless steel bases, precision machined parts, high temperature resistant diaphragms, computer modeled and flow tested inconel valve designs and v-band connections. These wastegates perform under pressure and handle high EGTs (Exhaust Gas Temperatures) to protect your engine from over boosting while efficiently evacuating hot gases to lower back pressure when running under wide open throttle. All of our by-pass valves are engineered to efficiently alleviate boost pressure contained within the induction system by venting or re-routing air pressure to prevent surging and unnecessary wear on the turbocharger. Our wastegate and by-pass valve lineup is able to be applied on low displacement (< 1 liter), low boost (< 5 psi) applications all the way up to large 10+ liter engines running 100+ psi in compound boost setups.
