Roof-Mounted Pantographs - Overhaul, Repairs & Servicing
Roof-Mounted pantographs for tram lines, metropolitan railways, metros, traction units (electrical multiple units - EMUs), trains and locomotives as well as potential special-purpose vehicles are developed for various overhead line systems and speeds, whereby a raising to and lowering from the overhead line is carried out by an electric or pneumatic drive depending on customer requirements.  The continuous contact force to the overhead line at higher speeds is either realised by mechanical deflectors or by a specifically developed electric-pneumatic control system. If requested, an emergency drop is offered, which lowers the pantograph as quickly as possible in the event of collisions with the overhead line.

PhotoTAG™

PhotoTAG™ uses a wayside mounted, high speed camera to capture vehicle identification labelling on the side of passing vehicles. This system can replace the requirement for RFID vehicle tagging in order to recognise rail traffic for the purpose of building train consists, trending wayside measurements of vehicle defect observations and/ or weigh in motion measurements.
 
Track IQ have specifically developed and field trialled the PhotoTAG system to facilitate rapid introduction of Wayside Detectors into environments where RFID vehicle tagging is not available or where vehicle ID's are required to be checked prior to removal from service for maintenance.
 
Adaptable to both the RailBAM and WCM databases and other industry systems PhotoTAG ensures that alerts for defects are immediately associated with the appropriate vehicle.
 
Suitable for environmental extremes and night/ day applications, the system enhances the railway safety and maintenance regimes.

Portable Derail

A derail is a device that will derail any railroad rolling stock, including mainline locomotives. Employees working on or around the track with nearby rolling stock, must be protected by a derail. As the flange of the train wheel comes in contact with the derail, it lifts the wheel and deflects it away from the rail head, and thus, the wheels are halted by becoming imbedded in the track ballast.

R-1100 Railgear

G & B Specialties Model R-1100 railgear is designed for vehicles with GVWR”s 33,000lbs and larger. The R-1100 front railgear utilizes the vehicle’s front suspension and the vehicle’s frame to lift the front wheels off the track. Attaching to the vehicle’s front suspension and frame makes this design more advantageous for the proper support of the vehicle. The dual scissor rear railgear attaches to the truck’s frame behind the spring hangers. The scissor action of the rear railgear makes it possible for the rear railgear to be moved along both the X and Y plane. This design makes for a more speedy operation of getting the vehicle on track and off track. With G & B New R-1100 Railgear, there are no limits imposed. If the vehicle can support the load, so can the railgear. G & B Specialties R-1100 Railgear has two hydraulic cylinders on both the front and rear units, providing power to spare under full vehicle capacity. On rail, the vehicle’s front wheels are raised approximately 2” above the rail head. Structural members are of carbon steel. Hardened steel castings are used in the making of the 16” wheels.

R-1130 Railgear

G & B Specialties’ Model R-1130 railgear is designed for vehicles with GVWR’s of 33,000 lbs or larger, using high carbon steel and hardened steel castings. The   R-1130 front railgear utilizes the vehicle’s front suspension and the frame to lift the front wheels off the track approximately two inches. The dual scissor rear railgear attaches to the vehicle’s frame behind the spring hangers. The scissor-design makes for a more speedy operation of getting the vehicle on track and off track. The rear gear also incorporates “Cushion-Ride” springs for constant railhead pressure.  With the R-1130, there are no limits imposed. If the vehicle can support the load, so can the railgear.

G & B Specialties Model R-150 is applicable to vehicles up to 6,500 lbs GVWR. Both rotating and vertical front railgear are available. Railgear locks automatically in both road and rail position. Proven “Cushion-Ride” suspension provides superior ride quality, reduced vibration through the vehicle frame, less component stress, and constant rail wheel to rail contact. No railgear adjustments are required for varying loads. Rail wheel assemblies are bolted to the axles for simple wheel alignment. All four rail wheels provide full track circuit isolation. Included 12VDC electric / hydraulic pump and reservoir with sealed push button controls provides safe and easy access to the rail. Optional in-cab railgear controls are available.
